Pick Your Team and Stash or Pass boards for Whatnot
Pick Your Team, Stash or Pass, and Pick 2 Choose 1 need different Whatnot boards. One grid with the title swapped will mark the wrong spot.
On this page
Pick Your Team and Stash or Pass boards for Whatnot have to show the choice the buyer actually has. A team grid is for spots with names. A stash or pass moment is a decision with two outcomes, not a miniature league map. Pick 2 Choose 1 needs two options visible and the chosen one marked. If you reuse one scoreboard for all of them, you will claim a team nobody picked.
What those formats do in the product can change. Read Whatnot's breaks help before you teach chat a rule from memory. This page is the picture. How the whole night is paced: run of show. Which format you are even in: breaks, singles, and surprise sets.
| Format | Board shows | Wrong file |
|---|---|---|
| Pick Your Team | Team or spot, open vs claimed | A random spinner with no names |
| Random team | What is in the break, then who it assigned | A pick grid that implies they chose |
| Stash or Pass | The two outcomes, and which one just happened | A full team grid left up from another show |
| Pick 2 Choose 1 | Both options, then the one they keep | A single card with no second option |
Pick Your Team is a list people buy from
Every spot in this break is on the board. Not the whole league if you are not selling the whole league. Open and claimed must differ at phone size. Update the cell when it sells, before the next bid. A buyer should find their team without asking.
Skip team colors that replace your show name. Colors help scanning. Your name still has to be in the frame or the screenshot belongs to anyone.
Stash or Pass is a moment, then a result
Show the choice in words the room uses. When it resolves, the result stays readable. A sting that ends on an empty frame makes you explain the outcome twice. If your stash graphic could be mistaken for a sold plate, change it. Those events are not the same. Plates: sold, giveaway, and pull.
Do not leave the choice graphic up while you fill the next spot. The board underneath has to come back. A permanent stash frame means every card looks like a decision.
Pick 2 Choose 1 needs both options in the shot
If the camera only sees one card, the format is a speech, not a picture. Get both options in frame, mark the keep, remove the other from attention. A scoreboard that says 'option A / option B' without the cards is an outline. Show the cards.
Random assignment is the format where a pick-style grid lies. Show the pool, then show the result as assigned, not as chosen. The verb on screen matters. 'You picked' when they did not is the argument.
One scene per format you will run tonight
- Write tonight's format in the scene name.
- Hide every other board.
- Read one spot, one stash result, or both pick-2 cards on a phone before you go live.
- Update state before the next sale. A PNG will not do this for you.
- If you need the sold spots to survive an OBS crash by themselves, buy live board software and read that vendor's current docs. A design file is not that runner.
Who should not order three format boards: a seller who only runs one of them. Build that one well. Service home: Whatnot boards.
Hide the format you are not in
The expensive mistake is a hotkey that still points at last week's Pick Your Team grid while tonight is Stash or Pass. Before you go live, click every key you might hit. If a dead format appears, remove the key. Muscle memory is not a reason to keep the scene.
Write the format on the starting plate in the same words as the listing. If those words disagree, fix the listing or the plate before the first bid. Chat will quote whichever one they saw first. If you cannot fit the format name, the plate is too decorated. Cut decoration, not the word.
Same product, two drawings, two boards
Thursday is Pick Your Team. The board is a list people buy from: team name, open or taken, readable after a glance. Saturday is Stash or Pass on the same product. That is a moment, then a result. It is not the Thursday grid with a different title. If you leave Thursday's scene on the hotkey, Saturday's first choice lands on a list that is not the drawing, and chat will argue from the picture.
Pick 2 Choose 1 needs both options in the shot at the moment of the choice. A result plate that appears after you have already said the winner makes you explain it twice. Show the choice in the words the room uses. When it resolves, the result stays readable. A sting that ends on an empty frame is a graphic that missed the only job it had.
Before you go live, click every key you might hit. If a dead format appears, remove the key. Muscle memory is not a reason to keep last week's grid. One scene per format you will run tonight. Hide the rest. Confirm the current format rules on Whatnot's breaks help before you teach a rule from memory. This page is the picture, not the product spec.
| Drawing | The board has to show | Do not reuse |
|---|---|---|
| Pick Your Team | The list, open and taken, in the names buyers bid | A stash animation with no list |
| Stash or Pass | The choice, then the result, in words | The team grid from the other night |
| Pick 2 Choose 1 | Both options visible when the choice happens | A single name that appears after you already talked |
| Random | Spots and the fact that nobody is picking | A Pick Your Team label on a random fill |
The board does not click the spot for you. Pelican files do not assign teams during the show. Someone still marks the result. If your stash graphic can be mistaken for a sold plate, change it. Those events are not the same, and the room will price them as the same if the picture does.
FAQ
What should a Pick Your Team board show?
The spots in this break, with open and claimed obvious on a phone, updated when each spot sells.
Can I use a Pick Your Team board for Stash or Pass?
No. One is a list of teams. The other is a choice with a result. Different pictures.
How is Pick 2 Choose 1 different on screen?
Both options have to be visible, then the kept one marked. A single-card cam hides the format.
Does the board click the spot for me?
Not a Pelican design file. You or your caller update it. Crash-proof live state is a software product, not an image.
Where do the official format rules live?
On Whatnot's breaks help. If their buttons and names move, follow that page. Do not teach a rule from an old screenshot.
Click the hotkey for the other format once before you start, on purpose, so you know it is hidden. If it appears, remove it from the deck. A format you are not running should be hard to reach. Easy to reach means it will go live while you are looking at the cards.
Send the format name and a photo of the current board through Free Audit, or post both in Discord.
